Ellie Lately

I swear Ellie grows overnight every single day.  She decided on Monday that she can go from laying down to sitting like it was nothing.  She pulls herself up into a kneeling position now, and for the first time yesterday, pulled herself up right onto her feet by holding onto my arms. She'll take one or two crawling steps forward before she face plants and decides she's just going to use her whole body (including her face) like a little worm to get to wherever she wants to go.  She's getting better at feeding herself, which is convenient so we can both eat at the same time.  She "talks" quite a bit - lots of gibberish in the sweetest, deep little voice.  I've been saying "mumma" over and over again and even though I know she has no idea what she's doing at this point, she will imitate me and say it back sometimes. ;)  She's super ticklish, sweet, and wicked wild.

I normally wouldn't just assume that my child is wild because I really don't have much to compare her to, but even our moms (who spend quite a bit of time with Ellie) agree that this child is on the wild side.  When I say she can't sit still for more than like a minute at a time, that is not an exaggeration.  I swear I hear the infamous "we need to be moving every second" Ellie whine in my sleep - or maybe I really do because her face is approximately a half inch away from mine.  The other day, she sat calmly in my lap watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a solid five minutes straight and I didn't even know what to think. To say she keeps us on our toes is an understatement, but she's a sweetheart and we love her so! :)  And we can't help but wonder if all of our children will be on the same level of can't-sit-still-for-two-seconds-crazy. ;)

My baby girl will be eight months old in ten short days, and I can't help but wonder where the eff the time has gone.  Didn't we just bring her home from the hospital like a week ago?!
