Our Weekend

We had a pretty quiet weekend over here; but, as usual there's no shortage of Ellie photos, so here's a a little recap... starting with some Friday night reads + selfies.

Ellie woke up approximately 357 times Friday night. Seriously, I felt like every time I laid back down and shut my eyes, she was up crying again.  It was one of those rare occasions when I couldn't wait until it was morning so I could just say "okay, it's 4 am. Good enough." - you know?  Anyone?  Bueller?  I did resist the urge to bring her in bed with us, so there was a little bit of a silver lining!  Anyway, I enjoyed a solid twenty minutes of silence in bed being smothered by a small herd of cats who decided it was their time for some attention while Tyler and Ells made a Dunkin's run on Saturday morning.  We really didn't do a whole lot the rest of the day.  Like, I didn't get out of my pajamas or take a shower until 8 pm, and then I just put on more pajamas (obviously)... so, one of those kind of days.

I had my heart set on trying this overnight french toast bake for our Sunday morning breakfast, so Tyler made a special trip to the store on Saturday to grab a couple things we needed.  After Ellie went to bed, I cut up the bread and started getting the rest of the ingredients together when I realized we didn't have enough milk.  Pretty sure my overtired self almost threw the baking dish through the window.  Tyler offered to run to get milk but ended up going to get it first thing in the morning so it wasn't really an overnight dish after all.  The best part about this whole thing?  Turns out, I don't even like french toast.  I couldn't remember ever having tried it but was looking to see if we could add something new into the pancake/waffle Sunday breakfast rotation.  Even though I was not a fan, apparently Ellie loves french toast + wolfed down a whole piece all by herself.  The rest of our Sunday was a better day (although equally uneventful), especially after a decent night's sleep Saturday night!

During Ellie's morning nap, I decided to make a felt flower garland for her Easter basket!  I had no idea what I wanted it to look like, and just kept going until I thought it looked good.  I originally had the gold "E" I bought at Target attached but decided to take it off.  I am really hoping to put together a tutorial soon!  It's a bit tedious (never second guess the price tag on those cute felt flower etsy shop accessories!!), but since Ellie's birthday party theme is floral, I was planning on trying to make a few other things soon anyway. :)  So (Ellie's nap time permitting this week) stay tuned!

The highlight of our weekend?  Watching Ellie WALK around!  She walked about half the length of our living room a few different times before she fell down.  It's SO cute to watch, she's so proud of herself + rightfully so! :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!!
