Mother's Day Weekend

Thinking back to this time last year when Ellie was just a couple weeks old and how excited I was that she was here in time for Mother's Day.  I had only gotten such a short glimpse into my journey as a mom and had no idea what was in store for the next year.  A very special thank you to this sweet little girl for making me a mama + giving me the best gift in the world.  Being your mom is the best, most challenging, most fulfilling job ever, and it has totally exceeded all of the little girl expectations I had of one day becoming a mama.  I love you more than words can say!

I'd of course like to wish my mom a very Happy Mother's Day.  I grew up with such an amazing role model of a mom and love knowing that Ellie gets to have you as such a big part of her life.  Thank you for taking care of me, my baby girl + my fur babes! ;)  We all love you!!

Happy Mother's Day to my mother-in-law, grandmothers, aunts and mama friends.  We are blessed beyond measure to have all of you in our lives!  Also, a very Happy Mother's Day to all of YOU!  No matter if you're a mom, a mom-to-be, hoping to be a mom one day or maybe a mom-figure in someone's life.  Sending hugs to any of you who might have heavy hearts on this holiday.  All of you inspire me to be a better mom every day!

We spent our day visiting with some of our favorite moms on Saturday - lots of good food + good company!  Tyler's grandparents were up on their way from Florida to Vermont, so it was extra special to have them see Ellie and how much she has grown.  We also celebrated my dad's and Ellie's birthday (again), which is something I'm sure we will be doing every year for the birthday twins! :)  Ellie got her first set of golf clubs and has been practicing hitting the ball like crazy.  Surely she will be ready to hit the course with Grampy by the time she turns two. ;)

Because we did all of our visiting on Saturday, we got to hangout just the three of us on Sunday.  Tyler and Ellie made a very early morning Dunkin's run (I don't even want to think about how many donut calories I consumed this weekend!), and Ellie gave me a card she made all by herself! ;)  We did our usual weekend Target + grocery run and spent some time outside soaking up the sunshine. It was a quiet day but getting to see my girl smile so much and see so many of our favorite people made for a pretty perfect weekend. :)

I hope you all had a nice, relaxing Mother's Day with the people you love the most!  Cheers to you, mamas!  It's not always easy, but it's beyond worth it.
