A Fearless Period with Cora

To be honest, this really wasn't ever a topic I thought I'd be writing about on here; but when Molly from Cora asked if I'd be interested in helping share their story, I kind of fell in love with what they're doing and couldn't say no.

Body // For me, once I became a mom (or perhaps it began when I was pregnant), I started to realize more and more all of the harmful chemicals that exist in so many products we use in our daily lives.  But tampons?  I seriously had no idea there was a possibility that I could be using something that was made with harmful synthetic materials or even toxic chemicals.  I would never want my child to use any products like that, so why would I allow myself to do so?  Cora tampons are 100% certified organic, biodegradable and hypoallergenic - translation: there's no bad stuff to be found.

Cause // The fact that they're organic isn't the only "feel good" aspect to Cora tampons.  For every month's supply of tampons you receive, a month's supply of sustainable pads are given to a girl in need.  Cora has partnered with social enterprise organizations around the globe to provide products to women in developing countries.  I am very grateful for the life that I live, but there are so many things that I don't even think twice about and totally take for granted.  In this case, the obvious example I'm referring to is having access to feminine products.  Reading that such a large percentage of girls drop out of school during their periods because they don't have any kind of products to help manage them was a huge eyeopener.  I mean, it's one of those problems that I knew exists; but I guess I didn't realize the magnitude of women it impacts until reading about it on the Cora website.

Experience // I will admit that I am a little huge sucker for marketing, and pretty packaging gets me every single time.  I was so excited when my box arrived and I opened it to find chic, modern packaging that doesn't scream "there are a bunch of tampons in here".  The little black box is pretty enough to leave out on the bathroom counter, and the little black clutch is so perfect for carrying around in my purse - it holds a days worth of tampons and eliminates the need to awkwardly carry my whole purse with me when I get up from my desk at work for a bathroom break.  My favorite of all?  The stowaway capsules!  I will never be caught without a tampon again with one (or a few) of these tucked away for later use.

Another awesome part of using Cora tampons is that they are delivered right to your doorstep - with free shipping!  Between pregnancy and nursing, it took my body a while to get back into the swing of things, so to speak.  Therefore, it also took my mind a while to get back into the swing of having to go out and buy tampons on a regular basis.  I am a big online shopper and am so used to having everything delivered, so automatically having Cora tampons shipped to my house is a huge plus for me.  Everything with your Cora order is customizable - quantity, absorbancy + payment plans.  Speaking of payments, Cora tampons are also affordable with plans starting as low as $9 per month.  Plus, there is no commitment and you can adjust your plan any time.
