Back to School Reading List

Yes, I am well aware of the fact that we are pretty much light years away from real "back to school" time in this house; but seeing back to school everything out in all the stores got me thinking! ;)  Since I was pregnant with Ellie, we've been collecting books and adding to our own little library.  We've got quite a few already, but I think we can all agree that reading the same books over + over again can be a little boring... to say the least.  I love to grab a new book every once in a while to add into the mix and have rounded up a handful today that are on Ellie's (my) wish list for the back to school season! ;)

A good story is great, but pictures might be more important at this stage in the game.  Ellie loves to point out different things on the pages as we read to her, which is way too cute and completely big girl-ish in my mind.  Our favorites seem to rotate frequently, but the past few days have included Little Blue Truck's Halloween, Moo, Goodnight Moon, Cats' Night Out and The Sweet Smell of Christmas - who can resist scratching + sniffing every single page even if there's no sweet-smelling sticker?! ;)

What are some of your favorite children's books?  I'd love to hear!  I'm currently dreaming up a special book nook in Ellie's new room and am on the lookout for cute + fun reads to decorate it with! :)
