Fall Accessorizing with Jord Watches

I will definitely admit that I have to fallen victim to the "mom uniform" slump on my days home with Ellie.  It's just so easy to change from one pair of cozy pajamas to another, you know what I mean?  Even though it might be easy to toss any kind of style out the window (because who cares if your seventeen month old is dressed ten times better than you?), I always find that putting in a little bit of effort goes a long way in terms of how I look and feel when it comes to getting ready + dressed for the day!

Meet my new mom fall uniform.  A plaid button down, destroyed jeans (with lots of stretch for running around!), cozy camp socks + my Jord watch - a warm mug of apple cider during nap time is completely optional but highly recommended! ;)  This is such an easy look to pull together and is so comfy too!  It's perfect for hanging out at home or venturing out, which is usually only as far as Target most days, if I'm being honest. :)

My new Jord watch definitely completes the look and I love that it is an accessory that looks good and is super functional.  Do you ever find that you go to check your cell phone for the time and end up checking all of your social media accounts, reading your texts + emails, planning your schedule around the ten day forecast, turning on some music for a quick dance party, doing a little online shopping... and completely forgetting that you picked up your phone to check the time in the first place??  Please tell me I'm not alone!  Who knew having a clock right on your wrist could save so much time and really keep you on track throughout the day?

I really haven't ever had a watch that I loved to wear on a regular basis until I got my Jord watch.  First off, I love the color of the wood that's slightly purple (and perfect for fall!) but so close to being a neutral that it really doesn't clash with anything else I'm wearing.  I also love the Swarovski crystal markers that add a little bit of sparkle without being over-the-top bling-ing on my wrist.  My Jord watch is very lightweight, not at all bulky and super comfortable to wear, even when Ellie and I are running around the backyard + shooting some hoops together! ;)

It's the perfect style to be dressed up or dressed down, which makes it easy to transition from work to play and vice versa.  By far one of my favorite things about my new watch is the fact that it's completely self-winding, automatic and requires no battery!  I had a tough time choosing just one watch because all of the Jord watches are beautiful, but ended up with mine because I especially loved the little peek at the mechanism on the face of the watch - plus, it's completely visible on the backside!

No matter which watch you choose, there are a ton of gorgeous men's and women's watches available on the Jord website.  Tyler and I had a lot of fun looking at all of the men's watches when we were checking out the website together a few weeks ago.  With the holidays coming up, I can't help but think ahead a little and know that a wood watch from Jord would make a perfect, unique gift for any man or lady in your life!

Jord watches is giving away a $75 gift card to their shop to one of our readers - click HERE to complete a super simple entry form!  Also, everyone who enters will automatically win a $20 gift card, how awesome is that?? :)  The contest closes on 10/9 at 11:59 p.m. and all gift cards expire on 1/31/2017 - that gives you plenty of time to grab a Christmas gift for a loved one OR yourself!! ;)  Good luck!

Halloween Style with Lakeside Bowtique

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of holidays, but I will be the first to admit that Halloween has never been my favorite one (I'm more into Santa Claus + Christmas trees, in case you couldn't tell).  That being said, buying an entire fall wardrobe with ghosts, candy corn or pumpkins on everything isn't really my thing - except for little black cats + festive jammies, of course!  I like to pick one or two super Halloween-y things for Ellie to wear (because there are definitely some really cute things out there!), but am not a fan of the fact that they can only be worn for a couple months of the year...  I mean, I guess they could be worn year-round, but I think you know what I mean. ;)  I love mixing + matching styles, colors + patterns with the changes in seasons and holidays to come up with some fun looks that can easily be switched up and worn all the time!

No outfit is complete without a little accessorizing, and a hair bow is always our go-to.  Hair bows are kind of a necessity when you have a little girl, especially one whose hair is constantly in her eyes if she doesn't have anything holding it back.  I love adding to Ellie's collection and picking versatile bows that go with everything.  Today I am sharing some of my favorite Halloween-esq looks that don't scream "BOO!" but still give off some adorable Halloween vibes, featuring some of the gorgeous bows from Lakeside Bowtique!

I think all of these items can be mixed and matched to create some ridiculously cute Halloween outfits, as well as paired with other wardrobe staples to extend their wear well-past October 31st.  Yes, even those kitty mary janes can be worn year-round, especially in our house. :)

We've been getting a ton of use out of Ellie's Lakeside Bowtique bows ever since Lesa, the sweetest shop owner, sent some over last month!  Lakeside Bowtique is a relatively new shop, located in Texas and ran by a mama to an adorable little girl.  Lesa began making bows for her own daughter as a hobby and decided to take a leap and begin selling them in her own Etsy shop!

There are some super cute bows up for grabs at Lakeside Bowtique, available in a variety of colors, patterns + styles.  I'm a huge fan of sailor bows but those hand-tied pigtail bows are just way too cute for words and I am dying to use them both in Ellie's hair at the same time... the pigtail struggle is very real over here. ;)  That white dottie bow I included above is definitely high on my wish list and would go with just about anything! :)

We're giving away three Lakeside Bowtique bows of choice on Instagram (@linleynoel) this week, so be sure to head over + enter for a chance to win! Also, Lesa is generously offering our readers 25% off your purchases from now through next Tuesday 10/4 using code LIFEASANOEL25 - now's the perfect time to grab a few new bows for the fall + the holidays, too!  Happy shopping! :)

P.S. I wasn't exaggerating in my last post when I said we've already spent countless hours playing with these pumpkins! ;)

Pumpkin Patch + Weekend Fun

Saturday afternoon was sunny + just the right temperature to feel like fall without piling on a million layers to keep warm.  We decided to bring Ellie to the pumpkin patch for the first time and she had so much fun! :)

I was envisioning a pick-your-own kinda pumpkin patch, but this was more of a pumpkin trail that made a small loop around the field.  All of the pumpkins along the trail were pre-cut and ready to be picked up, carried for five steps + dropped on the ground - repeat two hundred times over.  Basically, it was a toddler's dream.  Ellie especially loved the small white ones (the only ones we ended up bringing home from the patch) and romping through the field in-between the two sides of the trail to check out the big, green pumpkins that were still growing on the vines.

"You serious, Clark?"

Surprisingly enough, I don't think any pumpkins ended up in Ellie's mouth, but she did end up sniffing a few along the way. ;)  We grabbed some apple-flavored everything at the farm stand on our way out and have already spent countless hours carrying around our three little white pumpkins at home. :)

Rewinding quickly to Saturday morning, I can't even deal with Ellie in this outfit.  I just wanted to try her skirt on her since it was too big last time I tried it, but just about died when she realized it would float up when she twirled around.  HEART EYES TIMES ONE MILLION.  Yes, I am shouting right now.  Absolutely no regrets buying it in both colors and p.s. it's on super sale right now! ;)

Sunday we had a picnic at the playground, which really involved Ells taking two bites of lunch before running around collecting rocks and Tyler + I shoveling food in our face as fast as we could before Ellie took off to the slides - her favorite! :)

It was a perfect first weekend of fall, for sure.  Hope yours was just as sweet!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday + Happy Fall!!

"We'll sleep when we're dead" has kind of been our motto lately, so we're hoping to toss that aside and maybe get a little R&R in this weekend, maybe even a nap? ;)  Wishful thinking.  Regardless, it's almost another weekend which is exciting enough all in itself!

So, I definitely had my first sightings of Christmas jammies at Old Navy this week but they seem to have disappeared...?  Hopefully they will come back soon for good because I totally wouldn't mind dressing Ellie in Christmas jammies from now until December 26th.  Linley Christmas is back in business and has no plans to close up shop for the next THREE months!

Loving this dress (in red) and this one, both of which are gorgeous for fall AND would make adorable outfits for Christmas cards!!

These glitter kitty ears are a total steal if you're still looking for some Meowlloween accessories! Or if you're just obsessed with all things feline. ;)

This peplum top for ladies looks like it's right up my alley.  I love the different textures and the colors are gorgeous too.

All the heart eyes for this rose gold flatware.  I think it'd be especially perfect for the upcoming holiday season!

Obsessed with the colors on this pillow, but not digging the price tag so much though... which means hubs would definitely not be digging it. ;)

If you love home decor and amazing farmhouse style, check out this Insta feed I came across this week.  Love is an understatement!

A pretty basic but super easy dinner idea that's perfect for a hectic weeknight, kid-friendly + extra cozy in the fall:  pick up a loaf of bread from your local bakery, slice it up thick and make what Tyler calls "gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches".  I don't actually like grilled cheese (gasp) but I make myself a sandwich and make Ellie's grilled cheese with turkey + spinach.  Get creative with the toppings, I know Tyler certainly does! ;)  We'll have soup with them too - Annie's creamy tomato soup has been Ellie approved!  It's quick and pretty cost effective too.  I don't know about you, but sometimes I forget to go back to the basics and when you haven't had them for a while, they seem even tastier!

I'll leave you with a few Ellie photos from the week, my favorites of which are the first two - crazy cute bedhead and my view peeking into Ellie's room when I was vacuuming one night.  Love that girl so much!

Have a good weekend!!

Fall Bucket List

It really feels like fall when Target has that end cap in the food section with all the baking ingredients + pumpkin spice everything.  You totally know what I'm talking about, right?  I will not disclose how much excitement I felt when I saw that display out earlier this week - so many cozy vibes + it just made me a little more excited for fall!  You know summer is my favorite so it is a little sad for me to let go, but we've got lots to look forward to and today I'm sharing a few of the things on our fall bucket list! :)

1.)  Go to an orchard + pick apples.  This one's done, but I had to include it anyway because it's kind of a staple. ;)  I should include here that I also would like to make a fancy looking pie with the pretty cut out leaves and whatnot - my pies usually taste good, but looks?  Not so much.

2.)  Go out for ice cream - while the weather is still nice enough to do so!

3.)  Go pumpkin picking + carve them.  Last year's cat-o-lantern did not disappoint, so spoiler alert: it's definitely happening again this year.

4.)  Drive around + look at the foliage.  We talked about driving up to Vermont for a day one weekend to see the foilage and find some fun places to eat along the way!  Realistically, I'm not sure that it will happen this year, but I'd still love to and I think Ellie would enjoy it too.  Hopefully we can squeeze it in sometime this season!

5.)  Give Ellie her "boo basket".  October 1st is Halloween basket day at our house and is a tradition I decided to start last year.  I'll share what's going in Ellie's this year soon (I promise it's nothing too crazy), but in the meantime you can check out some ideas here.

6.)  Halloween breakfast!  Another fun thing to do as a family, because who doesn't love an excuse to eat good food?!  There are endless ideas of festive foods on Pinterest, so be sure to get a little (p)inspired before you decide on a menu!  Some easy decorations + kitty ears make Halloween breakfast complete.  Last year's posts can be found here and here.

7.)  Trick-or-treat, obviously!  Dressing Baby Ellie up for her first Halloween was a must + a lot of fun for me of course, but I'm hoping she gets a little enjoyment out it too this year... especially when I know she would rather run around nude than wear any kind of costume I could think to put on her.

8.)  Play in the leaves.  There's never any shortage in our yard, so feel free to come play... but only if you bring your own rake. ;)

9.)  Thanksgiving for three.  We spend Thanksgiving visiting our family (which we love to do!!), but I'd also love to have a very mini dinner just the three of us, maybe the week before the real Turkey Day.  A new tradition in our new house?!  Which leads me to...

10.)  MOVE! I kind of can't believe it's actually happening since we've been talking about it forever, but it is and it looks like November is the month!  So much excitement, and probably a lot of chaos, but we cannot wait.

Not included above is watching lots of Patriots games and of course eating all the fall goodies (caramel apples!!) + drinking all the apple cider I can find... but I think those are a given. :)  Also, what are the odds that I can get my black cat to pose for a picture like the one above?  Or maybe while wearing a scarf?!  Kitty heart eyes for days.

Do you have anything fun on your fall bucket list?  I'd love to hear!  Happy First Day of Fall EVE!

Our Weekend

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who sent well wishes our way!  I realize it's not like Tyler had brain surgery or anything crazy like that, but it is still certainly a small adjustment not having him able to help out much - even small things like helping put Ellie to bed or taking out the trash are certainly missed. ;)  On that note, we had lots of help this weekend getting some stuff done around the house and are so grateful for it all.

It was a productive weekend, but not a whole lot of excitement to report.  The weather was super chilly Saturday morning (in the forties!) but in the eighties + humid by Sunday afternoon.  We did lots of cleaning + got lots of fresh air - I'm totally trying to soak it all up knowing it'll be completely freezing outside again before we know it!

Girlfriend is obsessed with belly buttons and will gladly pull up her shirt (and ours) to give them a nice poke.  Where she learns these things?  I have know idea, but I do know that "belly" is one of the small handful of words she says right now and her infatuation with everyone's bellies pretty makes it obvious why that is!

Ellie has been loving going for walks in her stroller so we've been going almost every day.  It's a quick loop - just about a mile - but it's within my comfort zone in case she decides she wants to be home five minutes ago. You know what I mean? Here she is Sunday morning, one pigtail, no clothes, gold shoes + makeup smeared on her face.  Hot mess express.  I'm just thankful she was wearing a diaper when she climbed in her stroller. ;)

We're looking forward to having daddy home for the next couple days with us so Monday certainly seems a little bit happier over here!  Hope you all have a great start to your week! :)
